Description
Type 3: Cocked Hat Lamp; Glazed and Wheelmade. Last quarter of 7th century B.C. Earliest use of the wheel and glaze in Greek lamp production. There is a flattened circular bottom from which the saucer-like flaring sides spread to form the body. The nozzle is pinched. Likely made in or near the Athenian Agora.
